We’re all about serving up epic eats in a laid-back vibe that’s perfect for everyone — families, mates, locals, and visitors alike. From our mouth watering smashed burgers and loaded wraps to crispy pizzas, indulgent waffles, and creamy mac & cheese, we’ve got something to satisfy every craving.
Our motto? You smash the beers, we’ll smash the burgers! Come join us for great food, great atmosphere, and a cracking time!

Hey, I’m James, owner of Smashed Kitchen! I started cooking in Cornwall at The Well House Hotel under a Master Chef, which sparked my passion for food. At 22, I became Head Chef at The Barbican in Looe, running a busy kitchen. Back in the Midlands, I worked in gastro pubs and restaurants in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, then joined catering agencies, handling high-pressure kitchens.
I’m a partner in a hog roast business that’s now a thriving wedding and event catering company. I also taught at the Manor School of Fine Cuisine and trained young chefs at HIT Training to earn their NVQs. I’m a co-director at Heart of England Catering too.
Now, after 20 years in the industry, I’m shifting from wedding catering to bringing street food to Ruddington at The Framebreakers with my awesome team at Smashed Kitchen!
